LOS ANGELES: (Apr 24) American actor-filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal will preside over the international competition jury at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.
Known for her movies such as “The Lost Daughter”, “The Bride!” and “Crazy Heart”, Gyllenhaal will lead the jury that awards the Golden Lion for Best Film and other official awards at the film gala, slated to take place from September 2 to 12 this year, the festival has announced.
The decision was made by the Board of Directors of La Biennale di Venezia, who confirmed the recommendation of the Director of the Venice Film Festival, Alberto Barbera.
