Elephant dies after being hit by goods train in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh

RAIGARH (CHHATTISGARH): (Jun 16) An elephant died after being struck by a goods train while crossing a railway track used for coal transportation in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district, forest officials said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at around 10 pm on Monday near Chargaon village in the Gharghoda area when a herd of elephants was crossing a railway track, Divisional Forest Officer PM Arvind said.
