CHANDIGARH: (Aug 12) Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao on Wednesday said AYUSH healthcare systems play an important role in the management and prevention of chronic diseases and appealed to people to consider and adopt these traditional systems of medicine.
In a statement released here, the minister said that with lifestyle-related diseases increasing, there has been a growing interest in AYUSH systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga and naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and homoeopathy — not only in India but also globally. Keeping in view the growing relevance of these systems, the state government recently organised the Rashtriya Poshan Maah/Seva Pakhwada on a large scale, she said.
During the campaign, the AYUSH department organised around 1,771 health camps across the state, providing free check-ups and medical consultation to more than 10,900 people, according to the statement.
