Quake measuring 6.2 hits Tonga Islands region: GFZ

Hong Kong, Aug 14 An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted the Tonga Islands Region at 0438 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 18.40 degrees south latitude and 172.39 degrees west longitude.
