Chennai, Acclaimed actor Vijay Sethupathi, last seen in Vetrimaaran’s critically lauded ‘Vidhuthalai: Part 2’, is poised to return to the big screen with ‘Ace’, an adrenaline-charged thriller directed by Aarumugakumar.

Ahead of its theatrical debut on May 23, the film’s official trailer has been unveiled, offering a tantalising glimpse into a narrative brimming with suspense, humour and criminal undertones.
The trailer opens with the introduction of Vijay Sethupathi’s enigmatic protagonist, who arrives in Malaysia having erased all traces of his past identity. Adopting the moniker ‘Bold Kannan’, he forges a new path and strikes up a camaraderie with Yogi Babu’s character.

The arrival of Rukmini Vasanth’s character sparks a shift in tone, setting the stage for a gripping storyline that hints at a meticulously planned caper. The visuals oscillate between sleek gambling dens, intense stunt choreography and moments of inhibition revelry.

A humorous beat punctuates the intensity when Sethupathi examines a sketch, prompting Yogi Babu to quip that the subject resembles Sivakarthikeyan, according to a report by OTTPlay.
Ace’s post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video. The film will begin streaming on the platform once the film completes the theatrical run.
Apart from Vijay Sethupathi and Rukmini Vasanth, the film also stars Yogi Babu, Divya Pillai, Babloo Prithveeraj, BS Avinash, Muthu Kumar, Raj Kumar, Denes Kumar, and others.
‘Ace’ is produced by 7Cs Entertainment, who also made ‘Laabam’ a Vijay Sethupathi-starrer. Justin Prabhakaran has scored the music for ‘Ace’, with Karan B Rawat as cinematographer. Fenny Oliver is the editor.
