Anna Kendrick to direct Netflix’s ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’

LOS ANGELES: (Jun 2) Hollywood star Anna Kendrick is set to step into the director’s shoes again and will direct Netflix’s film adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”.

Liz Tigelaar will write the film, with current revisions by Francesca Sloane. It is produced by Liza Chasin under 3Dot Productions and Brad Mendelsohn through Circle of Confusion. Reid and Margaret Chernin will executive produce the film, according to the entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter.

“The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” revolves around reclusive Hollywood starlet Evelyn Hugo, who enlists unknown reporter Monique Grant to write her tell-all book, which will chronicle her life story and rise to fame during the golden age of Hollywood. Always the subject of tabloids, Evelyn also details, for the first time, her seven marriages, revealing secrets she’s held on to, who she is behind the scenes, and why she chose Monique for her final confession.
