
Tirumala, Jan 11: Thousands of devotees took a holy dip in the pushkarini (water tank) situated adjacent to the main temple in connection with Vaikunta Dwadasi Chakrasnanam here on Saturday morning.
Soon after the completion of the pre-dawn rituals and other temple formalities, the idol of Lord Chakrathalwar was carried in a grand procession to the temple of Lord Bhu Varaha Swamy where the priests observed the customary ritual in the presence of Tirumala Chinna Jeeyar Swami.
It is customary practice followed by the TTD to hold the golden chariot procession on the Vaikunta Ekadasi day and the Chakrasnanam on the Vaikunta Dwadasi eve every year.
Meanwhile, Chakrasnanam rituals were also organized at all TTD sub temples located in Tirupati and other parts of the Chittoor district today.
Usually, it is also considered as the most important torrent festival in Tirumala, the Swamy Pushkarini Theertha Mukkoti.
TTD Executive Officer Syamala Rao, Board Member Panabaka Lakshmi and others were also present.
